About Us
The Maplewood Alumni Chapter (MOAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. was chartered on June 21, 2009, by 23 dedicated brothers. The charter members include notable individuals such as Shawn Harris Sr., Grayson Hampton, Glenn Selby, and others who have contributed significantly to the fraternity’s mission and vision.
Our inaugural meetings took place at Seton Hall University, where we laid the foundation for a chapter dedicated to service and community empowerment. Grayson Hampton served as the first Polemarch, and subsequent leaders such as Maury Winkler and Gerald Graves have continued to guide our efforts.
MOAC actively serves the communities of Maplewood, South Orange, Orange, West Orange, and East Orange. Our chapter is committed to impactful community service, exemplified through initiatives like the Guide Right/Kappa League program, where we mentor young men. Additionally, we organize various community service activities, including feeding the homeless, conducting coat and clothing drives, and providing school supplies and toys to families in need during the Christmas season.
We take pride in our contributions to the community and strive to uphold the values of brotherhood, service, and academic excellence that Kappa Alpha Psi embodies.
